Kirkwood Public House

Today Ana and I used a Scoutmob coupon to go to Kirkwood Public House. It was very near Dekalb-Grady where I worked some last year. It is a cute little area in the middle of a kind of run down area of East Atlanta. I got the veggie burger and it was awesome. It was homemade with some kind of delicious mayonnaise. I also got a side salad instead of fries. I will definitely go back there, and with the coupon we each paid only $6 for our burgers. http://kirkwoodpublichouse.com/

Ethnic Gourmet - Pad Thai

I picked this up at Kroger because it was on sale for $2.99 when regularly it is $4.99. I was so surprised it is almost as good as restaurant pad thai! And I would say better than Thaicoon's pad thai because I just don't like something about theirs. Delicious dinner.

Sweet Tomatoes

Last weekend I went to Sweet Tomatoes with Meredith and Kevin. I am a little embarrassed to post these pictures because it shows how much salad I got...oops.

Sushi Avenue

Last night I ate at Sushi Avenue with Ana, Cecile, Cassandra, Whitney, and Cassie. I had the shrimp tempura roll with cream cheese added and the spicy crunchy shrimp roll. Although this place is cheap ($6.50 per roll) and pretty good, it couldn't compete with Shiki Sushi that I still had on my mind. After dinner we got a little treat at Yogurt Tap.

Roanoke Rapids

Sunday Dad and I went to Roanoke Rapids for the afternoon and had lunch with Grandaddy and Granmommy. She made an awesome lunch and this is a picture of what I ate. I went back for seconds. And we had a cheerwine cake for dessert that was really good! Today I am back in Atlanta and going for an interview this afternoon. Wish me luck!

Shiki Sushi

Mom asked me if I ever get sick of sushi and I said, never!!

Last night Angela, Kelsey, Meredith and I ate dinner at Shiki Sushi. It was SO GOOD! The best new sushi place I have tried since Mura. I had the Shiki crunch roll and the wasabi roll. It was surprising that the wasabi roll was not spicy at all. Meredith and I added cream cheese to the shiki crunch roll which was a great move. You can see in the picture how much crunch is on it, but surprisingly I ate it all (I usually remove a lot of crunch from my sushi). Angela's new townhouse is really cute. I can't wait to visit again when she is settled in and has gotten to know her new roommates. Perhaps in October when I am home again!

success!

Last night I went to Homegrown with mom and dad. I was STARVING. So hungry I forgot to take a picture of my pizza! It was the first time I had ordered the greek pizza too. I'm glad I didn't get the greek side salad, because they would have had the exact same toppings. So here is my regular side salad with ranch. I love their ranch and I used the rest to dip my pizza.
On a side note, I am so excited to try Shiki Sushi and see Angela's townhouse in Durham tonight! It will be my last outing with Meredith, Angela and Kelsey before I go back to Atlanta on Wednesday.

No Service!

I was excited to post this morning, but I am working at TOA and I have no service in the phone room. It seems to come and go. So I'm trying to email these pictures to myself from my phone but so far no luck!

I have so many pictures to share - I have gone out to dinner nearly every night!

So check back soon.

Wasabi Cary

Meredith and I went out for sushi Tuesday and it was my first time trying Wasabi. http://www.wasabicary.net/ Although I thought their spicy sauce was a little too much like the dreaded Sushi Thai sauce, my rolls were good! I should remember to stick to 1 crunchy roll and 1 cream cheese roll because things got a little too crunchy and I had to start taking it out. I got the crunchy shrimp roll and the dragon roll. The crunchy shrimp was my favorite. I also think this place would get more business if they had some half off deals like most of the other restaurants do.

Free Lunch

I'm working at Triangle Ortho this week and the best part is the free lunches. Today was a nice spread from Whole Foods. We had veggie wraps, fruit with honey yogurt dip and a salad with goat cheese, cranberries, and walnuts. Emily also went out and got Starbucks for the afternoon so I am currently sipping on a Frappechino (probably should have saved that $5 for a morning when I actually NEED the caffeine!)

Birthday Dinner

Last night Meredith hosted a birthday dinner for me at her and Kevin's new apartment. It was amazing the effort she put into it. The food was delicious. We had appetizers of mac and cheese bites, mini crab cakes, cheese souffles, and mushroom and asparagus tarts. For dinner we had a salad, homemade chicken cordon bleu, risotto, and asparagus. Then for dessert there was a wonderful strawberry cake. She will be posting on her blog (which I follow if you want to check it out) about making everything. I had a great time! Thanks Meredith!

Dinner at Whitney and Cassie's

This is what I contributed to our group dinner! Whitney made chicken salad that was delicious! I used a pasta salad recipe I got from Meredith that Kevin's mom makes. I have a lot of leftovers and I think I'm going to go a little more bold and add more salt and seasoned salt to those!

Murphy's Birthday Lunch

Friday afternoon Ana and I went to Murphy's for my birthday lunch. It was lovely. I had the squash soup and then the brisket sandwich with a side salad. The soup filled me up so I was only able to eat half of the sandwich and finish part of the salad. They should really add this combination to their soup, half sandwich, salad combo because that would have been the perfect serving. I recently found out that I like brisket so I've been ordering it a lot.

Rise N Dine

I had heard that Rise N Dine in Emory Village was good, but it surpassed all expectations. First of all, I tried the housemade lime soda. It is made with lime, simple syrup, club soda, and peppermint. It was the BEST drink I have ever had. Hands down. Like fizzy, fresh limeade. And I believe it was only ~$1.50 or $2.
For lunch I had the A.M. tacos with scrambled eggs, blackbeans, and pico de gallo. I used a little hot sauce on the side and it was delicious.
My plan is to go back for real lunch and try the egg salad sandwich with vegetarian chili. I was very impessed with this place. The only downside is their sanitation grade is an 82 B. What's going on with that?
AMAZING!! http://risendineatl.com/.

It's My Birthday!

I'm 23 today! And getting ready to go have lunch with Ana @ Murphys. Yummy food to come. Who knows if I will be a repeat and get the lobster cobb salad or something more adventurous.....

Pappadeaux

Thursday night when Mom and Dad came to visit we ate at Pappadeaux in Marietta. I got the lobster roll. I was a little worried about getting sushi from a non-sushi place, but it was DELICIOUS! The sauce was a mixture of hot sauce and sweet eel sauce. It was a cajun twist on sushi and I really really liked it. http://www.pappadeaux.com/home/. We also got the appetizer trio with fondue, calamari, and fried ALLIGATOR. Alligator is not bad, it tastes like chicken, but I didn't like the way it looked pink so I only ate one piece.

Murphy's

I got the soup, salad, and sandwich combo with black been puree soup, caesar salad, and a grilled cheese sandwich. I love that you can get all three instead of having to choose between two!
I just realized I've posted about Murphys and the Cupcake Factory a LOT within the past week, haha. I went there when Catherine came and also with my parents.

Atlanta Cupcake Factory

Mom, Dad, and I went and got cupcakes from the Atlanta Cupcake Factory on Friday. They were for my birthday and dad's birthday. I got chocolate raspberry, mom got coconut, and dad got key lime pie. We also got creamsicle, key lime, and red velvet truffles.
