Atlantic City Grill

Saturday night mom and I went to see "You Again" at Atlantic Station. Cassandra joined us for the movie. Beforehand we ate across the street at the Atlantic Grill. It was very lowkey and not crowded even on a Saturday night. It was a great place for us to eat because we didn't have a ton of time and were hungry. We shared the spinach dip and then I had a turkey burger with mushrooms and cheddar. I usually don't like potato chips - but I tried these because they were house made. Dipped in some ranch they were very good. http://www.shopatlanticstation.com/go/fb/guide/store.cfm?storeInstanceID=2138786702&storeID=2137028350

Rise N Dine

Yesterday mom and I ate breakfast at Rise n Dine. It was delicious. I had the Pangea and mom had scrambled eggs with quinoa grits and bananas. Here are some pictures!

Saba

Mom came to visit this past weekend and Friday night we ate at Saba in Emory Village. http://www.saba-restaurant.com/. I really enjoyed the salad. My spaghetti had a very good sauce, but the meatballs were too dry. Mom had vegetarian lasagna. I will post more of what we did this weekend in the days to come!

Mexican Dinner

http://www.amyskitchen.com/
For dinner I had black beans and an Amy's brand rice, bean and cheese burrito with salsa verde and sour cream. Delicious! Some of the Amy's products are bland, but since I had my own salsa, this was very good. I wish there were more frozen food vegetarian options for people like me. I would say only about 5% of frozen dinners are vegetarian and I refuse to eat meat from a frozen meal (unless it's Stouffer's meatloaf - I know, weird.)

Lean Cuisine Market Creations

I tried one of the new Lean Cuisine steamer bags tonight. http://www.leancuisine.com/Products/NewProducts.aspx?gclid=CNOwmMCyl6QCFVVx5Qod-TKuLA. It was not very good, as with all Lean Cuisine products. I don't know why I continue to eat them. Also, I love broccoli.

Update

My updates are a bit slower lately. The truth is, it has been slow finding a job for fall so I haven't been eating at as many fun places! Most of the places I have been going I have had a Scoutmob coupon to use (Spice Market, Kirkwood Public House, etc.). Scoutmob is the best thing ever! 50% off to a different restaurant everyday. www.scoutmob.com It's only in a few major cities, so sorry to all of those in NC who follow my blog.

In addition, I was just hired as a research assistant for a study in my department. So look forward to more delicious food when I return to the working world... :0P

P.S. Wednesday night we are going out to Murphy's to celebrate Cassie's birthday! So I will definitely have a post for that.

Skin Cancer Awareness

I poked a hole in my Longchamp for this, if that shows you how much I care about skin cancer awareness!

Thaicoon

Today when I went to pick up my food from Thaicoon, the lady recognized me, called me by name, and said, "Good to see you!". I think that means I eat there too much. Also a lot of meals are eaten at my desk now so I can watch TV on my computer. Tonight I was trying to catch up on Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Mexican Lunch

I promise this wasn't gross! But I am running out of food so I put cream cheese on my nachos and heated it up.......it was good! My favorite kind of taco dip has cream cheese so I thought it might work.

The rest is a quesadilla, salsa verde, and some refried beans.

Greek Fiesta

It has been a few weeks since this happened, but I am craving greek today so I will post it! I went to Greek Fiesta before Angela and I saw Eat Pray Love while I was home in August. My favorite greek place! I need to find a good place here in Atlanta.

Doc Cheys

Friday night I ate at Doc Cheys with Whitney and Ana. I have gotten into a bad habit of only taking a picture of my appetizer and not main course when I order two things. So anyways I have a picture of the thai coconut soup, but not the spicy thai basil tofu and noodles that I ordered!

Big Mac

I had a Big Mac today for the first time since 7th grade. And I'm pretty sure the last time I had one it was because I was on medication that made me starving all the time. I have to say it was very delicious. I must not be getting enough protein lately. This coupon for McDonalds with a big picture of a Big Mac was sitting on our counter all week and today I finally caved and went there. I got an icecream cone too, which was the wimpiest one I have ever gotten. Not tall at all!

Tuna Sandwich for Lunch

This is still my favorite lunch so far~ today I had it on Hawaiian King Bread "snack rolls". It was interesting because I bought the sandwich buns that were more round a few months ago and then all of a sudden they disappeared from stores. Now I noticed they have this new rectangle type of bun. I wonder if they are trying to see what sells best. Oh I also LOVE adding avocado to these sandwiches. yum.

518 West

I realized I never posted about going to 518 West when I was home. http://www.518west.com/ I wanted to mention it because I like how they have half portions for nearly every entree now and salads as well. I had the half portion of spaghetti and half of the grilled pear salad. The spaghetti should have been put on a smaller plate because it looked kind of puny, but it was very delicious. Even though dad joked that it looked like chef boy r dee (realizing I have no idea how to spell that). I am also posting pictures of mom's lasagna and nanie's eggplant Parmesan (I think? I forgot what exactly she got).

And now I'm hungry for Italian instead of the frozen Indian dinner I just heated. I also just found out that the free food at school next Wednesday is ETHIOPIAN which I have been interested in trying, but I have class during the time it is served. Maybe another time. It is the kind of food I want to try, but think I might not like, so it would have been nice to try for free.

Spice Market

Monday night I ate at Spice Market at the midtown W hotel for Ana's birthday. http://www.spicemarketatlanta.com/ It was midtown restaurant week so we all did the fixed price 3 course meal. For my appetizer I had the avocado and radish salad. I didn't realize there was a yummy sauce underneath it until I had already eaten half of it. For my entree I chose the vegetarian vegetables with green curry. It was good, but very spicy! I also wish there was a bigger rice to curry sauce ratio. I took the longest to finish my meal out of all 6 of us because of the spice. The other options were a cod dish that Ana had or some sort of beef with noodles. For dessert I had the Ovaltine Korfi, which was a rich fudge like chocolate with caramelized banana, cream and popcorn on top.

Unfortunately it got dark after the appetizer so that is the only picture I have!

Panera

Monday I ate at Panera for lunch with Cassandra. I got a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup (reminds me of high school) and their frozen raspberry lemonade. It really is a better deal to get the you pick two. It's ~$6.50 when just the soup is $5. I would have gotten a caesar salad and cup of soup if I was thinking smart.

Lunch

I was craving that salty pasta salad today again so I made a quick version without the tomatoes or cucumbers. It was good! Also that gross looking blob on my tofurkey burger is barbecue sauce, so don't be alarmed.
